Insight
Virgin’s B2B portal needed a refined booking and purchasing experience to match the expectations of its business clientele—efficient, intuitive, and unmistakably Virgin. I joined the project via Tortoise & Hare, working alongside a driven team who valued clarity in both process and design (and some of whom were undeniably charming).
The core focus was the flight booking journey: mapping out how small and medium-sized business customers searched, selected, and purchased flights with corporate rewards in mind. This meant balancing the robust functionality of corporate booking tools with the simplicity and elegance Virgin is known for.
Idea
Using Figma, I collaborated with the internal team to prototype wireframes, define user flows, and refine interaction patterns. From filtering results to checkout optimisations, every step was considered for speed, clarity, and ease of use—particularly on mobile, where business users increasingly initiate bookings.
The team was refreshingly collaborative, and feedback loops were fast and constructive. I was trusted to make decisions that balanced business logic with user experience, and that trust shows in the end product. The result was a system that delivered not only on Virgin’s brand promise but also on practical performance.
Impact
While the faces behind the project may not be front and centre here, they deserve a quiet nod—the kind of team where professionalism meets warmth. The sort of gig you leave hoping the feeling’s mutual.
